Hallowell Maine & Lost Valley

We learned about Hallowell after seeing it on Maine Life Media on YouTube. MaineLife Season 6, Episode 22 - Freeport & Hallowell - YouTube We're glad we did because we would not have known about as it is not on a route that we take traveling through Maine.

The town has an old vibe to it with mostly old and antique homes and buildings. The terrain of downtown is hilly. Unfortunately, I did not capture that on my camera.

Our time in downtown was limited as we were traveling from Searsport through to our overnight Harvest Hosts spot in Auburn. We enjoyed a relaxed lunch at The Quarry Taproom and a visit to Granite City Park

Photos from Hallowell include an antique "shop" which actually looks abandoned; some very interesting lighting. Crystal chandeliers are like a bug light for me.

Granite City Park is a lovely small riverfront park. It was a rainy day when we were there. This allowed me to capture the colorful chairs without any people in them. It is a beautiful setting and must be enjoyable place to sit on a sunny day.

Ok, let's move on to our Harvest Hosts overnight location at Lost Valley in Auburn. Lost Valley is a small ski area with a restaurant brew pub that is open year-round. We enjoyed a relaxed evening there. First, we had dinner then we parked in the grassy lot by the brook for the night.

That's a wrap for this leg of our trip from Grand Isle to Searsport to Auburn. Now we head home for a night and to have our last boat ride of the season and prepare for a trip to Vermont's Northeast Kingdom for another work assignment.

The video starts in Hallowell and ends in our driveway.

If you haven't noticed, on the blog you won’t find extreme risk-taking hikes, climbs, or challenges. Instead, I share our sightseeing spots, restaurants, and cocktails. I like sharing our everyday life and adventures. Live life to the fullest.
