Three Harvest Hosts - All Great!

On our travels to and from Jacksonville we stayed at three Harvest Hosts, all wineries, and all great. Harvest Hosts stays are relaxing, roomy, and interesting. We like to stay at these places because they are quiet and mostly peaceful. This is good because we have dogs and therefore have a bit more freedom outside, especially when we are the only ones there.

It is always our goal to arrive between 3:30 and 4:00 at the latest to Harvest Hosts. This allows for moment to set up and then enjoy a tasting at a relaxed pace. In fact, this is our goal for every destination.

Crow Vinyard & Winery in Maryland

Crow Vinyard is located in the farm country of Maryland off of RT 301 near the border of Delaware. An excerpt from their website tells the story:

"We are a third generation working farm that has diversified to become a successful farm winery. Our 365-acre farm includes a herd of Grass-fed Angus beef, soy and corn, farm animals, and a Farmstay B&B. The expanding vineyard supports a state-of-the-art winery producing award-winning wines that are enjoyed at our wine tasting room open year-round."

Cypress Bend Winery in Wagram, North Carolina offers wines of the muscadine grape. We had flights of the dry wines and enjoyed many of them.

Cypress Bend Vineyards

From the website:

"Cypress Bend Vineyards officially opened its doors in late June of 2005. After four years of cultivating thirty-five acres of the Muscadine (Vitis Rotundifolia) variety grapes (better known as Scuppernong), Dan and Tina Smith decided to share their passion for these grapes with the public.

Growing the muscadine cultivars -- Carlos, Noble and Magnolia -- Cypress Bend Vineyards is taking the muscadine grape to new levels in their sixteen muscadine table wines. Cypress Bend's wide variety of wine also includes Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec."

Hinnant Family Vineyards and Winery in Pine Level, North Carolina is in a rural setting. We arrived in time to catch the last song performed by a live musician.

Hinnant Family Vineyard & Winery

From the website:

"For over 47 years, we have dedicated countless hours and extreme effort into cultivating the best quality muscadine grapes in the state. Located in Pine Level, North Carolina, Hinnant Family Vineyards is the largest muscadine vineyard in North Carolina, sprawling over 100 acres.

From our dry white and reds to our traditional sweet scuppernong, we catch a spectrum of flavors in our international award-winning wines. So it is our family to yours that we dedicate each bottle we process here at Hinnant Family Vineyards with the hopes that our extended family, our clients and customers, will enjoy and treasure the memories each bottle of wine is sure to bring."

This post highlights three Harvest Hosts in the program. There are now over 2400 Harvest Hosts offering overnight RV Camping at Wineries, Breweries, Farms & Attractions. It is a great platform for RVers. I plan our travels around HH availability.

We hope that you can see that we enjoy our RV travels. If we didn't have the mobile condo we wouldn't be traveling this much. If you don't have the desire to own your own RV consider renting one to try it out. You might be amazed at how fun it is. And you have your own kitchen, bathroom, and bed!

Happy travels!
